Creation Points to God

Verse of the Day

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
Colossians 1:15-17
Proverbs 22:4
By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches and honor and life.

Thought For Today

Proverbs 11 verses 24 & 25 speak clearly unto the day and time in which we live, they say, “there is that scattereth and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet but it tendeth to poverty. The Liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”
I am intrigued by the statement in verse 24, about the one that scatters and yet increases. God promised that those that gave generously will receive back more than they give. God blesses those that are kind and generous, whether it be with their finances or in giving of themselves. The New Testament teaches that we are stewards of God’s gifts, and we must use them for His cause and for the benefit of those in need.
I learned many years ago that not one thing I possess is my own. Everything that I have comes from the bounty of the hand of God. We need to learn not to hold and to hoard, but to hold loosely and to bless. Acts 20:35, Paul says he remembers the word of the Lord Jesus when He said, “It is more blessed to give than it is to receive” May we all learn to give freely and liberally in the advancement of the gospel and the kingdom of God.
